A few days ago I was finally sewing the binding for the quilt which has my focus last weeks.
Here it is, finished and well.
The front and the backing.
Detail
Fabric with memories. Do you see the ducks. A blog reader send it to me when my dad passed away.
The strawberries is one of my first fabrics.
The flower fabric on the right from the ducks is from a bedsheet from the first bed of DD3.
This quilt is made for DD3.
The windmill fabric is a gift from a quilt shop when I ordered fabrics. I love it so much that I use a little piece in almost every quilt I made since I got the fabric.
In this quilt are a lot of 'ugly fabrics' which I never liked, (like the one under the windmill, and the purple on the picture below) and somehow in this quilt they work :-)
The orange fabric is from a little piece of a friend.
The yellow is one of my first reproduction fabrics.
And here it is on DD3's bed. The place where it belongs.
The quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted. The batting is quilters dream request 100% cotton.

I love this quilt, it is such a happy, sweet and cheerful quilt, love the colors and the stories behind some of the fabrics. DD3 will be so happy with this! And it looks perfect on her bed. She can dream sweet dreams underneath all this loveliness!
I'm willing to bet that the beautiful quilt gives a great sleep. YUM!
A beautiful quilt Lucy, it looks just perfect on dd3's bed. It is always good to hear the stories behind the fabrics and quilts, it sounds like you really enjoyed making it.
Wat een mooie quilt of moet ik zeggen droomdeken. Ik vind de herinneringen aan de verschillende lapjes zo mooi. Prachtig!!
Fijne zondag,

I so enjoy seeing your quilts being sewn on your Singer Featherweight machine.
I LOVE this quilt Lucy. It is pretty, happy and full of the most amazing fabrics. I must do a post of mine, it is still packed in a box from when we moved last year. Congratulations on such a beautiful quilt and always being an inspiration to other quilters around the world.
Sooooooo pretty!!! :)
So beautiful, did you select &
place the fabric or just grab and sew? Everything blends so nicely, you do beautiful work!

Dikke proficiat!!!!
Absolutely beautiful! Congratulations!
I would love to touch it! :)
Best wishes!
J' adore : l'endroit, l'envers, le choix des tissus, tout !!!
So LOVELY!! But I wonder, since you machine pieced your quilt, how do you sew the curves?
Glorious......Such a wonderful feeling your quilts all have! How fascinating the fabrics are!
This quilt looks so lovely ! And is now on exactly the right place !
My favorite kind of quilt, scrappy and full of memories. It's funny how when we use some of our "ugly fabric", it just blends in nicely and doesn't offend at all! Love the blue windmills.
So beautiful. It looks perfect on the bed.
What a wonderful quilt! I love that you used special fabrics with special memories! It looks so cozy and beautiful.
Nice quilt. Nice hand quilting, too.
The quilt and your daughter are beautiful! And I know the quilt was made with much love! So glad you got it finished for her! Have a lovely week!

C'est splendide! Bravo! Et il raconte des histoires, quelle belle idée!
so very pretty and feminine....and isn't it wonderful to have all those fabric memories!
