After hours and hours quilting...
I finally could say the quilting was done.
and the only thing left to do was the binding.
And voila, here it is:
My finished quilt, simply called: "De driehoekjes"
I even can't remember when I started this quilt.
I just sewed random light/dark triangles together from my scrap bag.
Not knowing what to do with them.
Until I found a fabric in my closet which was perfect for the sashings.
Look at that little house.... a little gift when you take a closer look at the triangles.
Through the years it seemed like that this quilt was a never ending project.
Until I shared this project with a dear friend I met by blogging.
She was inspired by it and started her own amazingly beautiful quilt with triangles too.
From that point I was inspired by hers and I was eager to finish mine...
Sometimes other projects got more my attention and it was hard to keep up.
And always she was there with her support.
We sent photo's and encouraging words to each other.
And finally it is finished.
She finished hers a few days ago.
and who is she?
She is : Liliane from Frameless Mind (click)
She makes stunning quilts. Her blog is inspiring and a pleasure to read.
She has a great eye for photography.
Thank you Liliane for your support to finish this quilt.
It became one of my favourite quilts. Not only because I like the result.
It is because of the messages we send each other, bonded by fabrics, needle and threads

What a beautiful quilt. It just goes to show that a pattern doesn't have to be complicated to be wonderful. I love the little house - that is a nice touch. The sashing is perfect.
Liliane
Prachtig!!!
Oh my! It is absolutely wonderful!! Love it! I’ve not blogged much lately and have been following you on Instagram! I can say, I’m hungry for a visit with my special Dutch friend! Hope all is well with you and your lovely family!
Love, Doniene
A beautiful heirloom quilt which also carries many good memories. I love how you used your scraps and even added a couple of blocks which are different to the others in size and colours.
Wow!what an amazing and inspiring quilt. I love the story behind it. I'm so glad you have a blog where you can share so much.
Ook deze is prachtig. Ik heb die van Liliane ook al bewonderd. Beide zijn schitterend.
Stunning! I'm so glad you finished it!!
My favorite kind of quilt! Awesomeness for sure!
I never fail to be amazed and inspired by your quilts but this last one is just the best ever. I could study this quilt for hours. Thank you for your beautiful post.
Do you think my little white Featherweight could make one just like yours??
Merci
I love all of your quilts, but this one is truly special! I love both versions and you and Liliane have done a marvelous job keeping this lovely secret all this time! Thank you for sharing.
Prachtig geworden! Scrap quilts zijn voor mij heel speciaal en deze is super helemaal omdat er ook andere blokjes inzitten dan de kleine driehoekjes. Top!!!
Nou naar Liliane...
Groetjes

Hallo Lucy,
Wat een mooie quilt. Gewoon door de eenvoud.

Amazing and delightful quilts and beautiful workmanship. The teeny house is precious! Thank you for sharing your time, talent and treasure. Blessings.
Such a pretty quilt! The sashing is perfect to let all of your colorful scraps shine. Lilianne's quilt is wonderful as well.
That is really beautiful! I love how friendships bond over quilts!
Het is prachtig geworden...

Simplicité et fraîcheur, j'adore, bravo!
So wonderful quilt, Lucy!
I go to know your friend´s blog now.
Hugs and kisses
Oh I just love, love, love your quilt! It has a wonderful timeless look to it. Thanks for the timely bit of inspiration for me on how to hand quilt the sashing on my current quilt too. I tend to run out of ideas occasionally and I do like to keep it simple. Your friends quilt is fantastic too. Thanks so much for sharing!
A gorgeous piece and what an achievement. I love how you used all those tiny triangles so creatively.
What a lovely quilt! I have been piecing blocks just like them for awhile. I am grouping them in blocks of four, placed so they make little geese blocks where they are joined. The triangles have been pieced with triangle paper and 1800s repro fabric. My group of four blocks are 18". I will make lattice like your quilt. It is my mindless quilting project, getting attention when I just want peaceful machine piecing. Just looking at your quilt brings me joy & hope that my quilt will one day be done! Right now I'm hand quilting a baby quilt with pearl cotton. It has a heavily embroidered lamb in the center, then 2" blocks of baby girl bright colors in diagonal order.
I love your little red fox! He is absolutely adorable... As all your little animals are. Thanks for sharing.
what a beautiful quilt - I used to read your blog all the time then got a new computer and lost some blogs and I'm so glad I followed a link today that went to you - I will put you back on my list now
