Finally I finished my quilt which is inspired by a quilt I saw in Austin TX.
In 2012 I made a lovely trip to Texas with my DH.
In an antique shop I saw a quilt which caught my attention immediately. Unfortunately it was too expensive to come home with me. So I decided to make my own version. On the same trip I bought the pink fabric and some fabrics for the blocks.
And now 4 years later I finished the quilt after it became an ufo for a long time.
I'm happy with it. It is a lap size quilt. Hand quilted and machine pieced.

So pretty and the hand quilting makes it so special!
This quilt is so softly pretty! Your handquilting is beautiful as always. I love that you made your own "antique". Your pictures are wonderful!
J'aime beaucoup les couleurs . Un très beau quilt .
I love your quilt!!
Of juist andersom?
Fijne avond,
liefs,
Mirjam
Your quilt is beautiful - and such a special reminder of your trip!
It is just beautiful Lucy...what a terrific memory to have close to you :D mari
Lovely little quilt. I love that soft shade of pink. I inherited an unfinished quilt (it's quilted - just needs some binding) from my grandmother that is this pale pink. I think she must have inherited it from someone else because it has cotton batting. Nice job!
A beautiful finish with many good memories. It must have been special to buy the fabrics while the inspiration was fresh, being a perfectly useful reminder of your trip.
Prachtig!!!
Groetjes, Carolien
Gorgeous quilt and lovely photos. So happy to hear from you again.
Nice quilt. I haven't been thru Austin in several years. I do get to Texas at least once a year, as most of our family is there.
Another beautiful finish. You've chosen some lovely fabrics to get that"antique" feel, well done.
Stunning - so understated. What a gem. Thank you for sharing your lovely quilt. Pennyxx
Zalig om hier weer eens "a good old" Lucy-blogje te zien!

That's such a beautiful quilt. I love the hand quilting and the colors are so soft. After reading some of the comments I think I should give a trip to Texas a chance. Living in California, it normally wouldn't be my first pick for a vacation in America...but. Not a big traveler but I would love to come to the Netherlands just based on your gorgeous pictures. That kingfisher is amazing. Currently the red headed woodpeckers are trying to get in to my house all day long. Don't know what's wrong with them!!
It is simply beautiful! What a treasure!
Lieve groet, Maartje
Love how this quilt came out. It has such a soft, vintage feel. Enjoy!
... - and I just saw now how clever you assembled each block and avoided those Y-seams!
Best wishes!
A beautiful quilt!
Mooie herinnering aan jullie Texas vakantie. Heel mooi met de roze kleur!
Echt super!
Groetjes,

Definitely an antique look. Well done.
Thank you for sharing your finished quilt! Looks like an antique for sure. Your dedication with hand quilting paid off..."congratulations", Lucy!
I hand quilt with 10 others every Wednesday 9-12 we have two quilting racks in the works, now. We have so much fun together and our ages range from 35-96. Marcella, our 96 years quilter--quilts the best of all of us.
I have an antique quilt rack set up with a quilt I am working on now...have a little ways more before I am finished..but, know I will be please with the results when finished.
