Finished mittens

Just in time for the cold I finished my mittens.

I lined them with fabric from a 'princes' fleece blanket. That was so much cheaper as fabric by the yard. It is the perfect thickness for the lining.
It add so much warmth.

The complete set.

Knitting mittens

On Sunday morning we went for a walk to the national park "Zuid Kennemerland"
The weather was mild for this time of the year. With no wind it was very peaceful.

This is a part from the estate "Duin en Kruidberg"

I'm working on a new pair of mittens which goes with the scarf I knitted recently.
Maybe next time I will need them for the walk. It's the end of November. Winter will be coming soon.

One is finished. My plan is to  embroidery flowers on them.

I'm so in love with my new bamboo knitting needles.

I hope to post a nice finished pair soon.

Finished 'Nine Patch'

Here is a detail picture from the back.

The quilt is sewn by machine,
quilted by hand.
It has a 100% cotton batting. (Mountain Mist Cream Rose Batting)

Lace crochet with mohair/silk

The best to do after a nice walk,

and enjoying all nature gifts,

is coming home and feel the fiber of mohair/silk through my fingers.

I'm crocheting a shawl. It looks like lace. It's fragile. I love it.

Doll quilt

Inspired by this antique doll quilt I sewed a little doll quilt for my friend Kathie

It wasn't my attention to copy exactly the original. It was the same feel I was looking for.

Ready to baste.
( the red fabric is in person more a dark pink like the second picture.)

Nice snips...

Finished!

Kathie has already received this mini. It took a week to travel over the pond to her.

Once upon a ...

Once upon a time there was a woman and she knitted and knitted.
She was knitting a nice warm wrap for herself.

As soon it was finished her DD3 came along ....

.....and the knitted wrap was gone :-)

Tile quilt update

Phyllis mentioned me this post from Cyndi about an antique tile quilt
It inspired me so much now I want to work on my version again.

I don't work often on this quilt because I have my doubts if it is becoming a nice quilt. It is also very busy.

At least it is a 'one of a kind' quilt.

...and I enjoy to work on each block. I like appliqué and each block is a lot of appliqué ;-)
It is all free hand, this way I don't know how each block is finished once I start it, fun!
Well If I'm going to finish this project I want to make a queen size quilt so more blocks to go.
