Gwen Marston

,Lucy’, Gwen said to me when I was complaining about not matching triangle points in my new quilt design...
‘Lucy, do you think that Picasso was worried that he colored outside the lines?’

Gwen Marston.
A woman full wisdom,  she was my inspiration in so many ways. I’m happy that I was able to have met her in 2009.

Love you ❤️💔

It was a shock when I heard this from you a few days ago. I have some of her books, but have never had the privilege to meet her in person, you were lucky enough to attend one of her famous retreats and you often told me about your experiences with Gwen and passed on some of her wise words, on life and quilting and via you I have been influenced by Gwen. You are lucky to have experienced her and her wisdom first hand. This is a great loss to our quilting community but she lives on in her quilts , her books and those she inspired.

Thank you for that bit of wisdom from Gwen. I never had the opportunity to take a class from her.

Yes, I was lucky enough to take a class with her once. Amazing and charming lady. By the way I made your tulip quilt years ago from the Quiltmania pattern, it is still one of my very favorites. At the time I had to force myself to try the Schoolbus orange !
