After weaving in all threads and sewing the ends together I can call this project finished.
I used a circular needle (addi) size 3mm.
Yarn: Holst Garn Supersoft.
This yarn is available in more than 100 colors. It's a fingering weight shetland wool. Because of the spinning oil the yarn feels a bit thin and coarse but after a few washings the yarn becomes softer, gentle and more fluffy. Even after the first washing I noticed already a big difference.
I cast on 120 stitches and
I knitted 3 rows stockinette stitch then a pattern from the book '200 fair isle motifs' by Mary Jane Mucklestone (is ook verkrijgbaar in het nederlands) then 3 rows stockinette stitch. Repeat till desire length.
I used patterns from the book which are divisible by 120.
I knitted two handed by this technique from philosopher wool
Look at this picture. It's my last finished quilt top and my cowl. Isn't it fun. Color and pattern has everything to do with mood ;-)

It is an absolute work of art - I admire your patience.
Oooh mooi geworden!
Prachtige kleuren, en die verschillende patronen....
echt schitterend!
Misschien ooit:)
Groet,
Absolutely beautiful, I would want to wear it every day. Congratulations. I want to knit a scarf in the round also but could never tackle all of these patterns...although a person should try. Happy Easter.
Beautiful, beautiful!! And your photo sequence is perfect. Thanks so much for sharing the details. I haven't knitted in quite a while but have been tempted to return to it.
Fijne Pasen, groetjes,
Jeanneke.

Simply lovely.
So beautiful Lucy!
Genieten.
Groetjes,
Marga♥
You did a beautiful job. It is a wonderful effort and a beautiful result!
Wonderful, beatiful and lovely... simply perfect!!!!
Having knitted a lot myself, I know the difficulty of your cowl, you deserve congratulations! As regards the colors similar to your quilt top... it's your style!
Prachtig!
Just lovely, your work is outstanding: knitting, quilting and picture taking!
This is beautiful and endlessly fascinating to examine. I completely agree with color preferences having so much to do with mood!
What a gorgeous, unique scarf. Everyone is going to want one now. So much time and love went into; I think it's an artistic heirloom for sure!
Happy Easter,

Fijne dag,
What a bit of inspiration - I am not a knitter but certainly a quilter - I have loved this quilt ever since you posted the first picture - it is a MUST do for me....
May just get it started today!!
Thank you Lucy :)
It is always a treat to peruse one of your blog posts. The scarf looks like it was a difficult thing to create. And the fabrics so similar in color to the scarf.
wow wow wow, Lucy! I can't find the right words to say just how beautiful it is. It's amazing.
Waouh! Magnifique!
Lucy, that is just beautiful. You accomplish so much. I admire all you do
Hello Lucy, I found your blog several months ago when I had too much time on my hands due to an unexpected illness. Your beautiful photographs and inspirational quilting, knitting and home keeping kept my spirits up when I was at my lowest.
I am now back to work part time and can look forward to our summer vacation when I plan to make a quilt in the spirit of your lovely quilt.
When I am exhausted from teaching I read through past posts and pages of your blog and past years' photos for peaceful rejeuvination and inspiration.
THANK YOU for your creativity and artistic skills in all that you do~you have brought my life such joy.
Best wishes, Barbara in California
Dear Barabara, thank you for your sweet comment. You make me blush :-)
Very beautiful!!! I love it!
